Natural Agate Dzi is a category of Dzi that is prized for natural beauty. The beads are without decorative eyes or motifs etched onto them. Instead, they have been left in their natural state. Sometimes, the ancient craftsmen treated the stones to manipulate the stones’ colors. The treatments enhanced the naturally occurring patterns of the stones, making the eyes and stripes more prominent.
Natural Agate Dzi was regarded highly in Tibet, the surrounding Himalayan areas, and other regions such as India and Afghanistan. They were often used as personal accessories and sometimes even worn as protective religious amulets for warding off evil.
