There is a lot confusion among Dzi Hobbyists regarding what is Antique and what is Ancient. The terms get misused quite often. It is no surprise that both casual collectors and serious collectors get confused.
Newly crafted Dzi, vintage Dzi (Dzi produced within the last 20 years), and Dzi produced in Taiwan in the 1980s can be classified as New Dzi.
Dzi that are older than that, but less than 500 years of age can be classified as Antique Dzi.
And, Dzi that are over 500 years of age can be classified as Ancient Dzi.
